POST WRAP UP: AIRWALK "Breaking The Mold"

This past Tuesday the R.A.W. collective took time out to venture to the Hotel Rivington to hit up the Airwalk "Breaking the Mold" event. It was brick as a winter night could be, but we sooned warmed up when we entered to a mixer friendly crowd.

We met up with a few of our fellow crime stoppers Bam La Rock (R.A.W./Freshness), man in the know Brian S.(BSA Networking), photographer estraordinaire Elixabet (be on the lookout as you'll be seeing a variety of projects dropping from her), and Tee (Trashbag Aesthetics) for an evening of good talks and spirits.

SNEAK PEAK: HELLZ BELLZ SPRING 2009

Back in October Zebak and I made a visit to the Foundation showroom to view the Spring 2009 line for Hellz Bellz. You'll be delighted to know that this collection is eyeful of smashing delights. I would probably have to say this is one of the strongest collections that creator/designer Lanie Alabanza has put out to date! You'll be tickled to know that yours truly has placed a considerable order for the ladies eager to rock these threads. They will become available at Special Sauce. Stay tuned...come see me and say hello!

I have been wanting to bring our female readers the news but of course had to hold back...until now. I got a news update in my email from BKRW. They have just reported that Hellz will be showing their Spring/Summer '09 line for the first time in Paris during fashion week at the "Who's Next" Tradeshow.

If you do happen to be in this part of town you can visit Hellz between 1/29-2/1, by putting in an email request with Jino (jino@hellz-bellz.com).



What really caught my eye were some of the images from the new upcoming line, primarily the "Coco x Hellz" tshirt. The design is an obvious tribute to the iconic Coco Chanel. It is safe to say that this will be one of the lines major draw and features. I predict it will become one of the collections best sellers as well. Black gloves dripping in pearls...what more could a girl ask for? Take a peak at the image below for some additional styles that will become available within the next few months (just hold a magnifying glass up to your monitor)-ha!ha! Don't worry we'll be dropping more niceness faster than you can say, "Spring is almost here"...

Studio director Paul Helbers mentioned: "the traveling wardrobe is of an African king" as the starting point for the latest men's accessories from Louis Vuitton. KIKS TYO x YUKO ISHIDA "Sneakers & Girls Series

The world has become more privé to Japanese singer and model Yuko Ishida lately. Since being unveiled as the second model to debut in the fall of 2008 as part of the KIKS TYO "Sneakers & Girls" series, she's received much more exposure (literally).

The following “FEATHER” and "NAKED" tee are the third and fourth Yuko Tee installment for KIKS TYO’s Spring/Summer 2009 season. ESTEVAN ORIOL x SURU Present: "THIS IS LOS ANGELES"

The famed Los Angeles based, Mexican-American photographer Estevan Oriol, will be bringing his retrospective works with SURU (means "hand printed" in Japanese) opening this coming February 1st and will show until February 28th. The exhibit entitled “This is Los Angeles", will showcase a variety of limited edition photographic prints of some of his most recognized works, as well as a collaboration T-shirt which will be released along with the concept and retail store SURU.

The viral buzz has been brewing about the anticipated Airwalk re-release of the famed "Desert Boot" made so popular by New York's own Beastie Boys. Per request by Adam Yauch himself, he has teamed up with the Colorado based skate and snow brand to produce 300 exclusive pairs.
