Rawthentix is a street culture and lifestyle driven online blog, providing readers with the latest buzz worthy news related to trends and current events for astute tastemakers and globe trekkers around the world.
Initially founded in 2005 as a Creative PR Agency, Rawthentix was strategized and masterminded
by its two founding partners who were fed up with the corporate overindulgence mentality within the music, fashion retail, and media industry. For them the current lack of progression and creativity within the already saturated market has spewed countless numbers of overzealous haters claiming to be down, but systematically know nothing.
With the combined work experience and credibility
of over 30 years in the art, music, fashion, & dance community, it was only a logical progression for Rawthentix to spawn. Their knowledge and dedication toward cultivating a voice for street culture is their business, but is also engrained within their personal lifestyle as well.
Our marketing campaigns include collaborative projects with Burton, Red Bull, Upper Playground, Red Bull, Nike SB, and Oakley. Media and entertainment collaboration include Milan Entertainment, MTV/VH1 Networks, 'The Art Dump' (Chocolate installation), Red Bull, Pacha NYC, Bboy Ivan (Urban Action Figure), HEF (Fx Crew), KRS One, Fab 5 Freddy, N.E.R.D, Universal/Interscope Group, Much Music (Chum City), artists Barbara Tucker, Rufio (White Lights), Ryuichi Sakamoto (Smoochy), and of course our loyal F.A.M. and Special Sauce collective.
Rawthentix is not only a movement, but a
Non-Traditional entertainment and street fashion agency, focusing on marketing initiatives, through an array of promotions that include: Live Event Productions, Brand Development, and Social Networking. We host an eclectic team of forward thinking individuals who live, breathe, & forecast trends
In short, we will provide clients with groundbreaking concepts that will maximize brand image and public awareness.
It is our intention to bring readers thoughtful commentary, as well as the latest freshness to drop.
If you are seeking a product review, advertisement, client consultation, or looking to connect, we'd love to hear from you. In the meantime frequent our site, leave a comment, and be in the know.
Originally founded in Switzerland back in 1983 under the guidance of Nicolas Hayek, the Swatch brand has become synonymous within the global pop culture community. We remember vividly back in the '80s when these color plastic time pieces made a stir among the art elite and your regular trendsters. Back then you could get your basic Swatch watch for as little as $40. Macy's had rows of cabinets filled with candy-like selections, including the artist collaboration series from such legends as Keith Haring, Vivienne Westwood and Jean-Charles de Castelbajac to name a few.
Fast forward two decades and Swatch makes a comeback with the the release of their upcoming series with the French artist GREMS aka Supermicro. Colorful in design, the creative packaging includes a spray can collectible toy. On April 2nd Swatch in collaboration with GREMS, will launch the new Street Club Watch in Paris, with a street art exhibit and exclusive DJ party. You must RSVP for this party. So if you happen to be abroad, be sure to VIP your way in. For further details visit Swatch.
Many of our R.A.W. readers know the fondness we have for Germany. Aside from having some of the illest beats and Bboys, this is just another good reason to add to our ever growing list. For those of us that are domestically bound, we can only hope that this user friendly application will catch on to be a worldwide movement...or at least in New York (hint, hint)
Adidas celebrated the launch of the highly anticipated Urban Art Guide this past March 20th, by hosting a media bash held at Hotel in Berlin, a night club set to officially open its doors this summer 2009. Based out of Berlin, the new mobile art guide is a free download via Itunes for iPhone users. For those that enjoy getting visually stimulated while keeping stride in the urban jungle, art connoisseurs can now have the best of both worlds with a hands on guide using the new application to visit various pieces of art through out the city streets. From known museums and galleries to hidden nooks and corridors, this new guide covers it all.

MEDIA INFORMATION: Adidas Urban Art Guide
The city is a gallery. The adidas Urban Art Guide is the catalog. When Urban Art entered the scene, art left the galleries. Their characters populate the whole urban landscape. Especially in a young and international city like Berlin they follows us at every turn like a second population. But who captures them, organizes and comments this highly dynamic art which constantly re-invents and erases itself? The adidas Urban Art Guide provides for the art on the street what a catalog provides for art in the galleries - a reliable guide which opens eyes, sharpens the understanding and intensifies the fun in Urban Art.
The Urban Art Guide editorial staff is based in Berlin. The city simply forces us to develop excitement for paintings on walls. And curiosity: Who are these artists, how are they linked, what kind of styles develop? Being that curious the idea of the Urban Art Guide came up. A project is needed that specifically answers questions - right on the spot. The adidas Urban Art Guide sends an article for each artwork that you are standing in front of directly to your iPhone. The article gives information on the artist, the artwork and references.
In close cooperation with Urban Artists but also with classical art historians not only a catalog is created but also an extensive and permanently updated Urban Art archive. The fast-paced and short-lived Urban Art is met with the consistency of the Urban Art Guide articles. Long after artworks have perished from walls, are weathered or wantonly erased, they are still documented on the Urban Art Guide website. The guide doesn't only show the present condition of Urban Art, it also records its history.
The adidas Urban Art Guide counts on interaction in order to meet the fast-paced changes of Urban Art. You have seen a new artwork? Take a picture and send it to the Urban Art Guide. The editorial staff checks it. Because the adidas Urban Art Guide doesn't only react quickly and flexibly, it also counts on maximum reliability - and all-time ready to go.
New York based graffiti artist Futura 2000 drops his latest Spring/Summer '09 collection from Futura Laboratories. The season includes the aniticipated "Kate Moss" Tee, available in white via Colette for €70.00 (that's $95 US). We say, you better think twice about how much you really want Kate spread across your chest for that price.
Originally used for the end credits of the acclaimed Fully Flared skate video directed by Spike Jonze and Ty Evans, the use of the acoustic driven track "Heaven" by U.N.K.L.E. was used as the inspiration and backdrop to re-edit a sequence of shots provided by the Lakai Skate team. The end result is pure perfection.
The music video will be released via Itunes and other digital outlets on March 22nd in the UK, and March 24th in North America.
