Initially founded in 2005 as a Creative PR Agency, Rawthentix was strategized and masterminded by its two founding partners who were fed up with the corporate overindulgence mentality within the music, fashion retail, and media industry. For them the current lack of progression and creativity within the already saturated market has spewed countless numbers of overzealous haters claiming to be down, but systematically know nothing.

With the combined work experience and credibility of over 30 years in the art, music, fashion, & dance community, it was only a logical progression for Rawthentix to spawn. Their knowledge and dedication toward cultivating a voice for street culture is their business, but is also engrained within their personal lifestyle as well.

UPPER PLAYGROUND TO LAUNCH|
"SHINGANIST" by USUGROW




Being avid lovers of the artist Usugrow, we were pleasantly surprised to receive the latest news from the good folks over at Upper Playground about their new partnership with the artist. The new line entitled "Shinganist" derives from the Japanese word "Shingan" (meaning mind's eye), and will be his first clothing line to launch in the U.S. on August 1st.

Shinganist will pull inspiration from underground Japanese lifestyle, as well showcase the works of guest artists and Usugrow himself. Upper Playground and Usugrow view the line as a vehicle to introduce a new generation of Japanese artists to the world.

Usugrow started drawing in 1993 for various hardcore metal bands, hip-hop groups, album covers, merchandise, clothing brands, shops, skate companies, whatever. Currently based in Tokyo, Japan his black and white illustrations are one of a kind, combining calligraphy with his drawings. He is inspired by flowers, Buddha statues, album covers, skateboard designs, and music flyers.

CHANEL No.5 NEW VIRAL VIDEO CAMPAIGN



The house of Chanel ceases to amaze us with their inventive ways in order to stay original. They have just released their latest viral promoting their iconic No. 5 fragrance. The short film tells the story of love at first sight. You'll have
to watch in order to fully appreciate. The lead is non other than French actress Audrey Tatou, who will be the latest to play the role of the late Coco Chanel
in an upcoming film biography.

VANS| Birth of Icons Book Drops



For those who live by the heel of Vans, you'll be happy to know that they will be dropping a hardcover collectible book on June 1st. Recognized as a brand staple within skate and street lifestyle culture, they have documented the history of the company now spanning over 40 years, sharing their story of soles from the ground up. LIMITED RELEASE| NIKE AIR MAX 90
"White Croc"



Fresh and direct from our email inbox to your screen, we recieved the latest releases being served up by the good folks over at Osneaker. It's hard to believe that it has been 20 years since the inception of the Air Max 90 initially spearheaded by the designer Tinker Hatfield. In usual fashion, Nike will be celebrating this momentous occassion, with a few special Air Max designs only available to friends, family & Nike employee's.

Following up to the very recent and limited release of the "Croc" Air Max 90 in the distinct Curry colorway, is the newest design to drop in a neutral White/Mean green-Anthracite. If you do happen to cop a pair for yourself you mine as well wear plastic bags on your feet, or otherwise have the ability to levitate. Only 25 pairs are known to have been made.

The bad news is that they are not a general release to the public. The good news is you can take your chances and get your trigger finger ready to press buy on Osneaker. Be sure to act quickly as there is limited supply.

SWATCH | GREMS LAUNCH
"STREET CLUB" WATCH



Originally founded in Switzerland back in 1983 under the guidance of Nicolas Hayek, the Swatch brand has become synonymous within the global pop culture community. We remember vividly back in the '80s when these color plastic time pieces made a stir among the art elite and your regular trendsters. Back then you could get your basic Swatch watch for as little as $40. Macy's had rows of cabinets filled with candy-like selections, including the artist collaboration series from such legends as Keith Haring, Vivienne Westwood and Jean-Charles de Castelbajac to name a few.

Fast forward two decades and Swatch makes a comeback with the the release of their upcoming series with the French artist GREMS aka Supermicro. Colorful in design, the creative packaging includes a spray can collectible toy. On April 2nd Swatch in collaboration with GREMS, will launch the new Street Club Watch in Paris, with a street art exhibit and exclusive DJ party. You must RSVP for this party. HELLZ x STUSSY Present:
"Ladies First" Capsule Collection & Party



Okay, so we realize that we have gone Hellz happy this week...but van you blame us?

The anticipated release of the Hellz x Stussy limited edition capsule rightfully entitled "Ladies First", officially dropped this past Saturday. After hearing and seeing this a few months back, we knew that this would be one to watch. The collection consists of three distinct t-shirt designs (one with rude boy inspired suspenders), a short sleeve hoodie, jacket with the words "Ladies First" across the back, with matching cropped pants and a tote bag. Best of all the prices are amazing, ranging from about $24-$60. You can't beat that!

We deliberately didn't post up anything knowing that legit images wouldn't become available until the final days. After all, we don't want to tease and keep you hungry when we can just give you the whole steak! In celebrating this momentous occasion Hellz x Stussy will be hosting a blow out affair this coming Tuesday, March 10th from 9pm to 2am at the Ecco Ultra Lounge in LA. We won't be their, but you might. Our loss is your gain. Dance the night away and show your support.

HELLZ BELLZ| | "Culture Clash" Collection
Spring 2009 Delivery I



Okay I realize that yours truly has been a little behind in rocking out the posts. I've been trying to multi-task about 5 different things at once, including building the womens line at Special Sauce, and getting my hustle on with PR projects I got simmering in the kitchen. I need a clone of myself that I can give daily tasks to.

In the midst of all my confusion I realized that I didn't have the chance to drop the Spring 2009 collection from Hellz Bellz. I know, I know- I'm seriously about two weeks late on this new, but so be it. If I can redeem myself to you all (and in my defense) I did drop the good word with a SNEAK PEAK back in January. Ha! ha! so there...How you like them apples!

Anyhow on with the show....

The newest release to drop from Hellz is rightfully entitled "Culture Clash". Known for her edgy style, designer Lanie Alabanza once again brings a true punch of diversity with a bitch slap full of color! The Spring '09 collection will start with Delivery I to select retailers, which of course will include Sauce (Don't worry, I got you ladies!).

The line features a fusion of versatile cut and sew pieces including a zebra mesh jacket w/ contrast red lining (which I previously previewed), brushed french terry hoodie, the anticipated acid wash denim jacket with iconic broken bottle embroidered artwork on the back, as well as a variety of new graphic tees (my favorite being the Coco x Hellz), tank top and multi-colored leggings. NIKE DUNK LOW RELEASED x KIKSTYO:
"Teen Wolf"



With the already released Nike "Teen Wolf" Dunks (part of the Media Pack),
we decided to pair this write up along with the soon to drop KIKS TYO t-shirt of the same nature.

Limited to only 72 pairs worldwide, the premium lows have caused a stir among sneaker afficionados. While easily becoming a statement piece (for the better or worse- you decide), they are exclusively available at Osneaker. Now if the sneakers weren't enough for you, and you're compelled to blatantly rock them accordingly, Japanese power house KIKS TYO has just revealed their latest t-shirt creation to match those Dunks.

Those hungry to fill their appetite, can pre-order them now until up March 8th on their online shop. They will become available and ship out starting in April. We have to admit that this is one of the best tee's to come out in a while. With an all over print paying homage to the '85 film, we think Scott Howard would be proud.

Last August we reported on the recyclable and eco-friendly brand called
Melissa Plastic Dreams. Brazilian design brothers Fernando and Humberto Campana create their fashion conscious footwear using up to 30% recycled PVC. If that weren't enough for you, proceeds of the money raised from the sales go to the World Vision from Recife. Now that's purchase with a cause!

NIKE CORTEZ BROTHERS & FLYMOTION RELEASE

Okay, so we realize that we have been slacking a bit on our posts...
We promise you that we have a perfectly legitimate explanation for it all! With a variety of client projects that we have been consulting on, planning events for the new Special Sauce Flagship store, and our recent mergers and acquisitions with Trashbag Aesthetics, we've been keeping on our toes.

Did we mention that Fashion Week for 2009 is about to be in full effect here in New York?- Yeah, and that too. So please forgive us, as we love dishing you daily hot plates of goodness and receiving feedback from all our readers who share our interests. Now, back to our regulary scheduled program! (Ummm- kind of at least.)




Though a bit late on this news, we couldn't pass on dropping the Cortez Brothers movie short presented by Nike and Berlin based shop Overkill, released a couple of days ago. For the occasion they teamed up with Tokyoplastic who created the two animated characters in the film. The viral video is also a collaboration with the newly released Nike Cortez Brothers Double Pack, which consists of a blue nylon Cortez and a silver metallic Cortez Flymotion.

The two sneaker styles and toys are also representative of Nike's co-founders Phil Knight and Bill Bowerman. The films two little characters Phil & Bill, symbolically represent the fusion between old school style and 21 century technology of the reinvented Nike Cortez hybrid. YSL ADDS SOME LOVE TO YOUR VALENTINE'S DAY




If you're feeling kind of lonely and can't think of a reason to celebrate a day of love, perhaps we can coax you a bit.

Yves Saint Laurent will have their volunteers scattered all over the streets of New York, Tokyo, London, Paris, Milan, and Hong Kong handing out a free YSL tote bag just in time for Valentine's Day.
