LIMITED RELEASE| NIKE AIR MAX 90 "White Croc"

Fresh and direct from our email inbox to your screen, we recieved the latest releases being served up by the good folks over at Osneaker. It's hard to believe that it has been 20 years since the inception of the Air Max 90 initially spearheaded by the designer Tinker Hatfield. In usual fashion, Nike will be celebrating this momentous occassion, with a few special Air Max designs only available to friends, family & Nike employee's.

Following up to the very recent and limited release of the "Croc" Air Max 90 in the distinct Curry colorway, is the newest design to drop in a neutral White/Mean green-Anthracite. If you do happen to cop a pair for yourself you mine as well wear plastic bags on your feet, or otherwise have the ability to levitate. Only 25 pairs are known to have been made.

The bad news is that they are not a general release to the public. The good news is you can take your chances and get your trigger finger ready to press buy on Osneaker. Be sure to act quickly as there is limited supply.

NIKE iD|ROYALE DESIGN TOURNAMENT

For those of you that have a passion for sneaker design, now is your chance to bring your creativity to the table. Nike Sportswear has officially launched their Nike iD Royal Tournament. The event set up will consist of an in-store East vs. West Coast style competition, starting off with 2 divisions.

The first round will start off with a total of thirty-two competitors from each coast consisting of 16 invited local VIPs and 16 winners from Open Enrollment (8 from New York and 8 from Los Angeles). The fifth and final round will take place at 5:00pm (EST) on April 11th, 2009 at the Nike iD store in New York City, where the remaining Open Enrollment winners from each coast will go head-to-head with the remaining winner from the VIP divisions.

The Grand Prize winner will receive a $1,000 NIKE shopping spree, and a custom-made pair of Bespoke shoes. If you think you have what it takes to earn the royale title to be number one, head over to 21 Mercer Street (NYC) or The Montalban (LA) and register by March 10th. NIKE DUNK LOW RELEASED x KIKSTYO: "Teen Wolf"

With the already released Nike "Teen Wolf" Dunks (part of the Media Pack),
we decided to pair this write up along with the soon to drop KIKS TYO t-shirt of the same nature.

Limited to only 72 pairs worldwide, the premium lows have caused a stir among sneaker afficionados. While easily becoming a statement piece (for the better or worse- you decide), they are exclusively available at Osneaker. Now if the sneakers weren't enough for you, and you're compelled to blatantly rock them accordingly, Japanese power house KIKS TYO has just revealed their latest t-shirt creation to match those Dunks.

Those hungry to fill their appetite, can pre-order them now until up March 8th on their online shop. They will become available and ship out starting in April. We have to admit that this is one of the best tee's to come out in a while. With an all over print paying homage to the '85 film, we think Scott Howard would be proud.

NIKE SB MARCH PREVIEW: GENERAL RELEASES & QUICKSTRIKE

It has occurred to us that we neglected to inform our readers of the January release from Nike SB. We apologize about this. There may be times that we may not disseminate the news here. If that should happen, there's a 99% chance we're reporting it on Special Sauce first. In the meantime get your eye fill and be prepared to spend your monthy bill funds.

For the beginning of this coming March, Nike SB will be releasing 5 new colorway styles which include:

•Blazer Hybrid LOW (Black/Yellow Swoosh Premium Leather)
•Blazer MID (Suede Sky Blue/Navy Swoosh)
•Air Classic (Gray/Yellow Swoosh)
•P-Rod II (Navy/Yellow/ White Swoosh)
•Dunk LOW (Black/Turquoise/Red Accent)- deemed the ‘Angels & Demons’)











Now for those of you who have heard the rumors about the Nike SB "Quagmire" High...its true. Based on the ficticious character Glenn Quagmire from the animated series Family Guy, the dunks are set to hit retailers as a Quickstrike for March. The upper is constructed of blue nubuck and canvas to represent Quagmire's jeans, and red nubuck with gold stars to represent his shirt. Yellow stitching is used on the mid-sole with white contrast stitching on the blue nubuck Nike Swoosh. More information after the the release.

NIKE CORTEZ BROTHERS & FLYMOTION RELEASE

Okay, so we realize that we have been slacking a bit on our posts...
We promise you that we have a perfectly legitimate explanation for it all! With a variety of client projects that we have been consulting on, planning events for the new Special Sauce Flagship store, and our recent mergers and acquisitions with Trashbag Aesthetics, we've been keeping on our toes.

Did we mention that Fashion Week for 2009 is about to be in full effect here in New York?- Yeah, and that too. So please forgive us, as we love dishing you daily hot plates of goodness and receiving feedback from all our readers who share our interests. Now, back to our regulary scheduled program! (Ummm- kind of at least.)




Though a bit late on this news, we couldn't pass on dropping the Cortez Brothers movie short presented by Nike and Berlin based shop Overkill, released a couple of days ago. For the occasion they teamed up with Tokyoplastic who created the two animated characters in the film. The viral video is also a collaboration with the newly released Nike Cortez Brothers Double Pack, which consists of a blue nylon Cortez and a silver metallic Cortez Flymotion.

The two sneaker styles and toys are also representative of Nike's co-founders Phil Knight and Bill Bowerman. The films two little characters Phil & Bill, symbolically represent the fusion between old school style and 21 century technology of the reinvented Nike Cortez hybrid. NIKE SB JANUARY RELEASE BLAZER: Varsity Purple/Black

Unfortunately we don't have some kind of fascinating background story to tell you about these blazers. No symbolic representation of any kind. We can tell you that they will hit boutiques (very soon) in the same shipment as the "Twin Peaks" Dunk we previously discussed and are loving.

Deemed as a Blazer Mid, the nubuck suede body consists of a varsity purple colorway, oversized black leather swoosh which is embossed with a snakeskin pattern, and a clean white sole. Simply put, they are clean, fresh and already in demand. Currently available in the UK, show your domestic love at both Sauce retail locations. Stay tuned as we will bring you additional images.

NIKE SB JANUARY RELEASE "TWIN PEAKS"

Its been sometime since we dropped news on the latest sneaker releases.
We usually like to keep it to a minimum, and to only report on kicks that we would only wear ourselves. We prefer to leave it up to all the rest of the sneaker nerds to battle it out for supremacy. Reporting on the release of this new skate high from Nike SB is more for nostalgic reasons than anything else.

Entitled the "Twin Peaks" High, the dunk pays tribute to the short lived
(30 episodes to be exact), cult TV show which originally aired on ABC from
1990-1991 by creator and producer David Lynch. When this show was in syndication, we completely geeked on in. It was the equivalent to what
"Lost" is today- except a hell of a lot darker and twisted.


Inspired by the show’s dream-scape "Black Lodge" located in the fictitious Ghostwood Forest, the dunk features premium leather, suede, nubuck and synthetic upper, rubber outsole and a symbolic owl hit on the side. These are a definite collectible! The blue owl signifies the entrance to the Black Lodges extra-dimensional realm. The interior is lined in red with a zig-zag pattern insole representing the "Red Rooms" curtains and geometric carpet. Let's not forget about that eerie little fellow, the unnamed "Man From Another Place".

Its much to involved and bizarre to attempt a brief explaination on the premise of the "Twin Peaks" phenomenon, so we suggest that you take some time and do a little research. Otherwise bust out the goobers and make a movie night out of it. You won't be disappointed! Set to release this month, the SB Twin Peaks have already landed at a variety of boutiques and will soon appear at...you guessed it Special Sauce.

AIR MAX x ALABASTER DRAGON RED

The latest womens release from Nike dubbed the Alabaster and Dragon Red Air Max 1, is inspired by bright ski apparel in the 1980's. Consisting of leather, suede, and nylon, the colorway is a flattering combination of purple, red, and pink sure to not only get the ladies, but male sneakerheads trying to purchase a size and a half up. THE GOOD WILL OUT - BRINGS THE SNEAKER GOODS IN

So a few weeks back we had a chance to catch up with BabakOne, owner of Dedicated. He let us know about the different projects he's been working on, including his collaboration with the crew over at The Good Will Out. TGWO is a new sneaker and life style shop that opened its doors this past March, and is located in the beautiful city Köln. Did we mention how much we love Köln? We do. We corresponded with its owner Alex, where their passion for sneaker culture transcended into their new venture. We say congratulations, and we'll be stopping through on our next trip over for sure. JUST ANOTHER RICH KID x 24K NIKE DUNK HIGH

One of the latest works by New York based artist and designer Ken Kourtney of Just Another Rich Kid. Featured in the Anna Kustera "Urbanity On Paper" exhibition, are these pair of gold dipped Nike Dunk Highs entitled Indulgences No. 5. This just takes sneakerholism to a brand new level.

NIKE SB- CRAIG STECYK PREMIUM BLAZER RELEASE

The announcement of this Blazer was announced a while back, but we have decided to add some additional information.

Craig Stecyk is one of the founders of the art magazine Juxtapoz , and perceived by many in the skateboard community to be the Godfather of the sport. He gained much notoriety in the early 1970's for his artwork and involvement within the surf community, and later the founder of the infamous Jeff Ho/Zephyr surf shop in Venice, California. Nike SB pays homage to the legend by releasing the Stecyk Premium Blazer. The upper consists of orange nubuck suede, with custom Stecyk art on the heel and insole, and a cream colored sole.

NOTE: To correct the dissemination of misinformation via online, the Stecyk Premium Blazer is not to be confused with the Lance Mountain Blazer, which is due to be released as a seperate sneaker on a later date. Stay with us and be in the know. The Stecyk should be dropping at the Sauce this mid October.
