Rawthentix is a street culture and lifestyle driven online blog, providing readers with the latest buzz worthy news related to trends and current events for astute tastemakers and globe trekkers around the world.

Initially founded in 2005 as a Creative PR Agency, Rawthentix was strategized and masterminded by its two founding partners who were fed up with the corporate overindulgence mentality within the music, fashion retail, and media industry. For them the current lack of progression and creativity within the already saturated market has spewed countless numbers of overzealous haters claiming to be down, but systematically know nothing.

With the combined work experience and credibility of over 30 years in the art, music, fashion, & dance community, it was only a logical progression for Rawthentix to spawn. Their knowledge and dedication toward cultivating a voice for street culture is their business, but is also engrained within their personal lifestyle as well.

Our marketing campaigns include collaborative projects with Burton, Red Bull, Upper Playground, Red Bull, Nike SB, and Oakley. Media and entertainment collaboration include Milan Entertainment, MTV/VH1 Networks, 'The Art Dump' (Chocolate installation), Red Bull, Pacha NYC, Bboy Ivan (Urban Action Figure), HEF (Fx Crew), KRS One, Fab 5 Freddy, N.E.R.D, Universal/Interscope Group, Much Music (Chum City), artists Barbara Tucker, Rufio (White Lights), Ryuichi Sakamoto (Smoochy), and of course our loyal F.A.M. and Special Sauce collective.

Rawthentix is not only a movement, but a Non-Traditional entertainment and street fashion agency, focusing on marketing initiatives, through an array of promotions that include: Live Event Productions, Brand Development, and Social Networking. We host an eclectic team of forward thinking individuals who live, breathe, & forecast trends In short, we will provide clients with groundbreaking concepts that will maximize brand image and public awareness.

It is our intention to bring readers thoughtful commentary, as well as the latest freshness to drop. If you are seeking a product review, advertisement, client consultation, or looking to connect, we'd love to hear from you. In the meantime frequent our site, leave a comment, and be in the know.

It has occurred to us that we neglected to inform our readers of the January release from Nike SB. We apologize about this. There may be times that we may not disseminate the news here. If that should happen, there's a 99% chance we're reporting it on Special Sauce first. In the meantime get your eye fill and be prepared to spend your monthy bill funds.

For the beginning of this coming March, Nike SB will be releasing 5 new colorway styles which include:

•Blazer Hybrid LOW (Black/Yellow Swoosh Premium Leather)
•Blazer MID (Suede Sky Blue/Navy Swoosh)
•Air Classic (Gray/Yellow Swoosh)
•P-Rod II (Navy/Yellow/ White Swoosh)
•Dunk LOW (Black/Turquoise/Red Accent)- deemed the ‘Angels & Demons’)

Now for those of you who have heard the rumors about the Nike SB "Quagmire" High...its true. Based on the ficticious character Glenn Quagmire from the animated series Family Guy, the dunks are set to hit retailers as a Quickstrike for March. The upper is constructed of blue nubuck and canvas to represent Quagmire's jeans, and red nubuck with gold stars to represent his shirt. Yellow stitching is used on the mid-sole with white contrast stitching on the blue nubuck Nike Swoosh. More information after the the release.

Okay, so we realize that we have been slacking a bit on our posts...
We promise you that we have a perfectly legitimate explanation for it all! With a variety of client projects that we have been consulting on, planning events for the new Special Sauce Flagship store, and our recent mergers and acquisitions with Trashbag Aesthetics, we've been keeping on our toes.

Did we mention that Fashion Week for 2009 is about to be in full effect here in New York?- Yeah, and that too. So please forgive us, as we love dishing you daily hot plates of goodness and receiving feedback from all our readers who share our interests. Now, back to our regulary scheduled program! (Ummm- kind of at least.)

Though a bit late on this news, we couldn't pass on dropping the Cortez Brothers movie short presented by Nike and Berlin based shop Overkill, released a couple of days ago. For the occasion they teamed up with Tokyoplastic who created the two animated characters in the film. The viral video is also a collaboration with the newly released Nike Cortez Brothers Double Pack, which consists of a blue nylon Cortez and a silver metallic Cortez Flymotion.

The two sneaker styles and toys are also representative of Nike's co-founders Phil Knight and Bill Bowerman. The films two little characters Phil & Bill, symbolically represent the fusion between old school style and 21 century technology of the reinvented Nike Cortez hybrid. Stephen Colbert On: Shepard Fairey Copyright Battle

As if there weren't a plethora of more important issues to be concerned about regarding our country, economy, and the world... another case of the mighty dollar rears its ugly head. This past week the Associated Press accused L.A. based street artist Shepard Fairey for copyright infringement by using the original AP image for his iconic red-white-and blue portrait capturing Obama. You be the judge- what are your thoughts?

C. NEEEON Presents:

Designers: Clara Kraetsch|Doreen Schulz

Its always a treat when we here at Rawthentix have the chance to introduce designers that are a little off the beaten path. You may not be familiar with the
c. neeon brand (we were happily introduced to it 3 years back on a vacation and shopping stint in Berlin), but keep your eyes peeled for this up and coming Berlin based line.

The designers Clara Kraetsch and Doreen Schulz met while attending the Kunsthochschule Berlin College in 2001, where in 2004 they would produce their first collection entitled 'Daydream Collection". Designing for both womens and menswear, the art based label is known for its use of bold color, geometric prints and unusual cuts. Since its introduction, c. neoon has managed to build quite the cult following among the European and Asian markets, by producing notable collaborative projects with UK based Topshop, Nylon, and selling collage artwork with the Lumus art collectors.

The C. Neeon S/S 2009 collection deliciously entitled "Sunday Taste" is striking, seemingly with much more emphasis on ladies garments. Though bold in color choice, the pieces are no fuss, easily light and wearable, with a hint of playfulness. Perfect for that sunlit breezy day. To view the current collection and store list visit c. neeon. In the meantime peep a few of the images below.
Stay tuned as we will drop the c. neeon A/W 2009 collection in a hot minute- or two.

Somehow mysteriously the hour long documentary below that we posted last week has been taken down. Could it possibly be a copyright and licensing rights related issue? I wouldn't be surprised, as I personally dealt with these kind of dreaded issues for 8 years when I worked with MTV- Yeah, I admit it..I worked as a drone for the corporate hog and lived to tell the story.

Thankfully we have a little something to replenish you all with. It has come to our attention that there is a new documentary currently being shown entitled
"The Universe of Keith Haring" directed by Christina Clausen, with its theme song by DJ junior Vasquez. (Wow- can you say Tunnel, NYC circa 1990's) unfortunately it is only available in Canada, Europe and Brazil right now.
We'll be sure to keep you posted on this though. Stay tuned.

Courtesy: ovic one

Originally broadcasted on Dutch televison by AVRO, the documentary explores the street art movement in the 1980s, and the massive influence Keith Haring
left on the pop culture movement. Nearly an hour of video, it is in English and subtitled in Dutch. It is produced by Overcom & French Conecction Films & Absolute Film with co-production by Avro.
